Financial Soccer

Product Design & Branding

Financial Soccer is an interactive video game used globally to educate and entertain. It covers practical financial concepts throughout the plays. The team at SevenDesign helped define the user experience and interface, as well as create a memorable brand to follow.

This was a partnership between Visa and our team over the course of a year to launch the product globally. The final product includes mobile apps and desktop websites to educate and learn more about finance.

OVERVIEW

For a financial education initiative aimed at young adults and teens, the branding was designed to resonate with a gaming-savvy audience. Inspired by the aesthetics of popular video games, the visuals were crafted to be both engaging and accessible, using vibrant colors and dynamic layouts to capture the attention of younger users. To make complex financial concepts easier to understand, we developed an interactive trivia game that introduced key topics like budgeting, saving, and investing through a fun and competitive format. Partnering with FIFA and VISA, we extended the reach of the campaign, leveraging their platforms to introduce financial literacy content to a broader audience of kids and teens globally, combining the excitement of sports with crucial financial lessons.

The result was a brand that not only connected with young adults but also offered a familiar and enjoyable game structure to facilitate learning. By integrating the interactive trivia game format, users could easily grasp financial concepts while engaging in a fun, competitive environment. The partnership with FIFA and VISA further amplified the campaign’s impact, creating a trusted and relatable platform for teens to learn about finance in a way that felt natural and relevant to their interests. This approach successfully merged education with entertainment, making financial literacy more accessible and appealing to a younger demographic.

ROLE

Product Designer

My role on this project included product design and branding. I took the lead on the overall branding of the game design as well as the user interface. I contributed to the early explorations on the look and feel of the game by researching current games and user needs. I prepared the final production screens, marketing assets, and specific handoffs to our developers and provided guidance with product development.
